I have lost one of my most expensive suits as I gave it some cheap dry cleaning services. However, with Opal Alterations, the scenario was completely different. Recently I have given sent my jacket for dry cleaning and the results were amazing. It looks like new and I will fall short of words to thank them.

Super fast, good prices for common work (trouser take up, etc) but less common things are pricier. I had a suit altered and was quite happy with the job while slightly unhappy with the price for jacket alterations.
Edit: After a more detailed look around I’ve realised Opal is pretty competitive price-wise (jacket alterations are expensive everywhere) – and WAY faster than some local competition.

Definitely one of the better alterations specialists in Canberra I’ve been to – would use again and recommend to others.

First of all the customer service is fantastic. I was introduced to Opal from a friend to try them out. The alterations was perfect. I have been a customer ever since. I wouldn’t take any alterations to anyone else.
Again I brought my suit pants in late Saturday afternoon and I am able to pick it up Sunday morning.

Jeff altered my wedding dress weeks out from the big day, he made sure it fit perfectly and that I was completely comfortable without even being able to notice the changes. His determination and incredible skills blew me away. I wont use any other company in future!

Jeff and his team fitted and altered my dress perfectly in the week before my wedding, and put my mind at ease. The home visits were also great as I could do the fittings after hours.

Jeff is absolutely amazing and I would highly recommend him for any bridal alterations in Canberra. Nothing ever seemed to be a problem for Jeff. My wedding dress was a size or two too big, and Jeff fitted it for me perfectly with no stress. The home mobile service is fantastic, and it makes you feel very comfortable. As a first time customer, I found the manager to be knowledgeable, he listened to the request carefully, was efficient had excellent customer service and professionalism. I hope in the future Opal might open a branch in south Canberra in the future as there is only one tailor in Manuka who is no where near as good!

I went to get my pants’ elasticated band fixed, which they quickly and easily did for me. Their customer service is very polite and understanding, and I was only charged $24 which I think is quite reasonable 🙂

I contacted Opal and they visited me at home after hours, collected my jacket and performed a high quality alteration for a very reasonable price and the home appointment service is very cheap. I can’t recommend this company highly enough. Great value and quality work.

Brilliant service! I had a pair of curtains that needed hemming and was very pleased to discover there was a pick up and delivery option. Jeff was professional, courteous and extremely helpful, and even offered to return my curtains on the same day he collected them. The quality of the work was excellent and the turnaround time impressive.

After several experiences with other alterations services who charged far more that this for a similar job and took more than a week to complete to a lesser standard, I won’t be going anywhere else but Opal Alterations in future.

I had a cocktail dress altered by Opal Alterations and the staff were friendly and really helpful. My dress had a lace overlay and boning. It was ready within a few days and it looked brand new, I couldn’t find where the alteration had been made. I was quite amazed. I will absolutely be back for repeat business. Highly recommend.

I took my items here after visiting another tailor in the city and being told it would take 45 days to take in my skirt. Took my skirt into Opal Alterations on a Saturday and was able to pick it up on Sunday, not to mention the price was almost half of what I was quoted at the other place. The customer service is great and good quality tailoring. Will definitely only use Opal Alternations in the future and highly recommend!

I required my custom skydiving suit to be modified with a complex shoulder narrow. I was pleasantly surprised by the customer service and the care that the tailor went to measure my body correctly. They also used the correct nylon thread and double stitching as requested. The work was immaculate! I cannot fault it whatsoever. The suit is looking very nice now : ). Highly recommended.
